There are also expressions which are reflective of social and political issues as well as the historical applications of the time. These become essential in defining the approach which is taken toward writing poetry and fiction. The expressions change in terms of the literary devices which are used as well as the way in which the literature is able to create and define the expressions and experiences throughout the piece. The difficulty which often arises in literature comes with the translations which are associated with literature and the way in which this becomes bound to the literary meanings. This research paper will define some of the common difficulties with translation and the ability to alter the meanings of various pieces of literature through the philosophies and interpretations of translators. Specifically, there will be an examination of the work of Hikmet and â€Å"The Epic of Sheikh Bedreddin.† This particular work was noted as one of the most controversial of the time, specifically because of the relationship to the revolution in Turkey and the social, cultural and political stigma which was surrounding the era. The author had direct relationships to the intent of the epic as well as the literary devices which were used throughout the epic to convey the various meanings and deeper understanding of the time frame (Wade, S, 2001).
